Picking Pumpkins

The Mehlbrech's have started a tradition of going to Jim's Apple Farm every fall to pick pumpkins. It is not a traditional pumpkin farm, but the price is right, $2.98 a pumpkin. The kids can get in the wagon, or pull it as Troy likes to do, and pick out pumpkins for each of us. We actually found it last year by accident, but liked it so much that we headed back again.
Inside the farm house are all kinds of apples, you can try each and every one of them. They also make pies on sight! You walk in and the aroma is amazing! Last year we bought a frozen dutch apple pie for Thanksgiving and we did the same thing for this year. They also sell peach and strawberry rhubarb, amongst many others. In addition to pumpkins and pies, we buy their special apple wedge cookies and this year we added something extra - apple smoked bacon! We are saving that for a special occasion, though.
