The Infamous Cake

My book club was having a baby shower/russian themed meet-up in April. Three of the women were pregnant at the time. So, I volunteered to make a cake for the meeting. Let's just say everything seemed to go wrong, whether it was with the fondant being too hard, or one egg short, etc.
My catastrophe with the cake ended up working out for the best. The kids had a great time decorating the bad cake with all of my left over fondant. I, on the other hand, found a great cake at Sam's Club to decorate with some of my fondant. WIN/WIN!!!
The pictures I think tell the story well.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

We had a great Easter! The kids hunted for eggs around the house and even needed a little help from Grandpa. We then headed to a really nice mass filled with beautiful music and bells. The next part, however, was my favorite - BRUNCH! We took Bob and Val to one of our new favorite finds near Lake Calhoun. The restaurant puts on a yummy brunch filled with an omelet station, meat station, gorgeous table spread, mimosa's and an unbelievable dessert table. I hope this is a tradition that continues...

Easter Activities

This year we did things a little different for Easter. We started the weekend with an Easter Egg Hunt at the Eagan Community Center. The kids had a great time running and climbing through "THE BLAST! " We then headed over to Gymnastics where we ran into Val and Bob, who came up for the festivities.

Getting Ready For Easter!

The kids were very excited to dye eggs this year for Easter. So excited, they did not quite understand the process of cooking the eggs first, letting them cool down, and then dying them. They were quite impatient with me. Emma wanted to make every egg pink. Troy would have dyed each egg every color if we would have let him. In any event, they had a great time and are understanding the meaning and fun of Easter even more as year passes.
