Emma - 9 Months

Emma had her 9 month appointment this week. After being sick for the last month, she lost some weight. She's now in the 75th Percentile for weight and height. She was a little over 20 pounds and almost 29 inches tall! I am pretty sure she will not hit 6 feet, but hopefully she will at least be taller than me.

She is not crawling yet, but she is still scooting backwards. She is moving around more to get what she wants, which is mostly her brother's toys. She has officially rolled from her back to her tummy now. That was a big step. Before, she just didn't care. We are a big fan of clapping. If she sees us or hears it from somewhere else, she likes to mimic.

As far as food goes, we are trying to transition her to some of the toddler items. She is on some #3 foods and she is behaving the same as Troy did; as stubborn as ever. I know it will come with time.

I will post her 9-month pictures when I receive them. We had them done at Target this time, and I loved the results!! The top picture is a sample.

Lisa's Gripe Of The Week

For those of you who don't enjoy a good cup of coffee in the morning, you may not care. For those that do, you will know what I am talking about. Whether it be Starbucks or Caribou Coffee, who made up the law that said you had to put a lot of crap on my coffee???
With Starbucks, it is whip cream. Why? No, really. Why? Why do I have to make the special effort to ask you to NOT put whip cream on my coffee? Then, 9 times out of 10, you put it on anyway! It is just not right.
Now, Caribou. I have a totally different gripe with you. You are the biggest culprit of them all! Not only do you put whip cream on everything in sight, but you also have to one-up Starbucks by putting chocolate shavings on top of the whipcream. However, you don't stop there. After you have put the top on my coffee cup, you then add chocolate covered coffee beans.

Let me clue you in: I DON'T WANT IT!

The workers at Caribou coffee now call my drink the Medium Skim No-whip "No FUN" Mocha.

9 times out of 10, they screw that up too.

Place your comments below and let me know if you agree, disagree, or really just don't care.

Clean Up The House!

My kids have a funny way of helping me clean up. Troy likes to run away with his container full of train tracks and slide it across the floor, more like a game of "Catch me mummy!" Emma just likes to watch. We also try to put our shoes by the back door. Troy has many ways of helping us do this task as well.

Silly Boys Do Silly Things

This is what happens when your son wants to put your hair clips in his hair.
There never seems to be a dull moment in our house.

Emma Has Teeth!

Emma finally got some teeth! It has been almost 9 months, but we finally have two coming in on the bottom. Since we do not have a pacifier, it has been interesting to find things for her to chew on. One of the things she loves is one of Matt's remote controls. She also loves to chew on her shoes. Things she does not like are teethers and wet washrags...you know, the things you normally give children when they are teething. We have a toothy grin though, well, sort of.

NOTE TO SELF: Don't Leave The House While Sick!

So, we did not go to Monroe for Easter due to the weather. Emma and Troy were sick around that time and shortly after anyway, so it all worked out. Emma, however, did not get much better. Two weeks later, we tried to redo the trip to Monroe, but Emma was still a little sick. We tried to get her in for an appointment before we left, but we couldn't get anything until Monday. So, we headed to Monroe. Emma seemed to get a bit worse over the weekend and I ended up getting sick in the process. Matt took Emma to her appointment on Monday and they came home with a nebulizer. We were fortunate that the daycare would give her the treatments every four hours. At the end of the week, though, Emma was still getting worse. So, cut to this past Monday. I was feeling horrible, Emma was feeling horrible, so we both went to Urgent Care. We came out with the exact same thing. Drainage in our ears, our nose and congestion in our chest. They put Emma on Amoxicilan and me on Augmentin. Today, Emma is back to eating her food and sleeping a lot better. I am still coughing up a storm, but I do feel a lot better than I did. It was just painful to see my little possum with the nebulizer...

Me and My Emmy

Matt was out of town, so Emma and I decided to take some photos of ourselves. Okay, so it was all me...
